Encouraging The Next Generation

Why we started the fund

After the tragic events of two very important people in Barry Beck’s life - his son Brock Beck and his close friend and teammate Mark Pavelich, Barry started up “The Brock and Mark Scholarship Fund”.

This Scholarship Fund will benefit secondary students in Hong Kong who will be studying and pursuing a career in Mental Health Studies and Recovery. With the help of sponsors and donations, we can continue the journey that Brock began after he graduated and received a degree in this field.

Brock and Mark recognized there was a need for people who were managing mental illness on their own. Changes had to be made with how and where someone received help. Mark was a great outdoorsman and always felt his best outside. We believe Nature is therapy as well. Having a comfortable and therapeutic environment, surrounded by nature and animals, appealed to both Mark and Barry. “The Ranch-Teammates for Life” became a reality in 2020.

We need to “Respect Mental Health” and continue what they believed in and worked for. By association, the scholarship fund will encourage future generations to create positive changes in the Mental Health field.
